Discover Creative Careers is an online resource for teachers, parents and young people to use for information and inspiration about progression into the creative industries. It was launched by CCSkills as part of the National Careers Week (1-6th March 2021), and is available to use for free!

To highlight this resource, and other support and links for creative careers, the Wiltshire & Swindon Cultural Education Partnership (W&SCEP) ran a CPD & networking twilight on 4th March, with teachers, cultural educators, and careers advisers attending. Our keynote was Anthony Skates from CCSkills, who shared details of the Discover resource, and gave lots of insights into how to enhance and deliver careers education and creative progression.

The twilight also gave details of Arts Award, a wonderful range of creative qualifications for young people aged 5-25, and local cultural organisations shared their own projects and resources. (See some of these further down in the bulletin).

Feedback from a teacher at the CPD twilight: ‘Thank you for organising and hosting this event. It has been very inspirational. There are some amazing teachers and cultural ambassadors around! I look forward to keeping in touch.'

The W&SCEP will be running future CPD events during the summer term so keep an eye out on Twitter or our next bulletin. If you have a CPD theme that you'd find useful please do let us know!
