Enhancing cultural learning

The W&SCEP secured funding from Real Ideas to run a Challenge Fund project from 2019-2021, which involved a range of work including a dedicated project and Arts Award delivery with Deaf young people, the Open Fund match-funding scheme for schools, and support for the development of the W&SCEP itself. Below are details of the schools that took part in the Open Fund. This scheme supported schools to ‘unlock’ funds in their setting that hadn’t been used for the arts or culture before, and to develop projects with local cultural partners which had a focus on health and wellbeing and that responded to identified needs and priorities. There were 5 projects awarded in Round One and 10 in Round Two.
