Autumn 2021

Wiltshire & Swindon CEP news

As the term draws to a close we wanted to send good wishes and cheer to all colleagues for a relaxing winter break! Also, we have a couple of 'gifts' to share with you to inspire arts & cultural learning in your setting in the new year!

Firstly, we are excited to announce the launch of the Cultural Providers Directory, which is a growing resource of organisations and practitioners working in education across Wiltshire and Swindon. We also created a film to celebrate the W&SCEP Challenge Fund Project and the 15 schools that took part in the Open Fund from 2019-2021, and to have a glimpse of their exciting creative journeys. And our final 'gift' is a save the date for a Schools & Culture Networking event in Salisbury next March!

See details of all of this below, and as ever, please do get in touch with any wishes, queries, or connections.

Happy festivities, the W&SCEP team

NEW Cultural Providers Directory

In response to feedback from schools, the W&SCEP has created a cultural providers directory on their website to help connect settings with arts, cultural and heritage organisations and practitioners working across the county. We're really excited to support these connections, hopefully leading to some great cultural education activity!

It is a growing resource, so please do check back again over the next few months, and pass it onto to any providers you know of who may want to add their details.

Disclaimer: It's important to note that providers add themselves to the directory and so are not vetted or checked by the W&SCEP and so we can take no responsibility for their quality or safeguarding policies. These checks need to be done by settings / anyone using the directory. Any concerns please email us.

A celebration of the Challenge Fund 2019-2021

The W&SCEP secured funding from Real Ideas to run a Challenge Fund project from 2019-2021, which involved a range of work including a dedicated project and Arts Award delivery with Deaf young people, the Open Fund match-funding scheme for schools, and support for the development of the W&SCEP itself. For an overview, see the Challenge Fund Evaluation Report Summary on the Projects page of our website.

On that page, you can also read about and watch the short film celebrating the 15 schools that took part in the Open Fund. This scheme supported schools to ‘unlock’ funds in their setting that hadn’t been used for the arts or culture before, and to develop projects with local cultural partners which had a focus on health and wellbeing and that responded to identified needs and priorities.

We have been really inspired by their projects, many adapting and responding to the challenging couple of years it's been. Well done all!

**Save the date!** Schools and Culture Networking

Thurs 24th March 2022, 5-7pm, Salisbury Arts Centre

Wiltshire Creative, and the W&SCEP, are delighted to launch a series of in-person, informal networking events, aiming to create an opportunity for school and college staff to meet with local cultural providers to find out more about what is on offer in the area.

Open to school staff, artists, and arts, cultural, and heritage organisations, wanting the chance to meet each other and chat about exciting new or developing ideas, projects, and initiatives.

Drop in between 5-7pm to meet your local cultural network, and be inspired over some refreshments!

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
